MSC Renovation

The Memorial Student Center (MSC) was constructed between 1947 and 1951 in its present location. It closed in 2009 for major renovations and expansion to accommodate the growing student population. The cost for this project was $125,000,000. Funding was provided in part from student fees, but also former students. Members of the Centennial Class of 1976 provided $250,000 toward this project. The pillar was dedicated to our class to reflect this contribution, and in turn, our class honored Coach Emery Ballard on the dedication plaque.
